The paper aims at understanding green building and its interpretation over the years. The objectives are to study green building, to find similarities and differences between different terminologies. The methods used are to summarize understanding from literaturereview and case examples; to study the similarities between old cultural practices related to climate and new concepts; to understand way of living in the past, needs and today’s fast pace changing lifestyle.
