Abstract

Inthis paper an envelopetype topologyfor asymmetrical MLIwith less number ofswitches is proposed. This topologyproduces 13 levels with 10 switchesand 4DC sources. Thefeatures of the proposed topologyarebetter quality than similar topologieswith reducedcount ofsemiconductorsswitchesand DC sources. The main advantage of proposed topologyis to create a negative level without any additional circuit which reduces thevoltage stress ontheswitches. To achieve higherlevels cascade connection is also possible of this topology.The performance of the proposed topology is validated by using MATLAB Simulink simulation.
