Abstract

The term town planningis used to indicate the arrangement of various components or units of a town in such a way that the town as such attains the significance of a living organism. It also includes ways and means to be adopted for the improvement of the existing towns or for the extension of the towns. The town planning is a science as well as an art too. The town planning, however, is not an exact science and precise forecast of future possibilities are not attainable. But the gap between guesswork and prediction can be brought down to a minimum by the cooperation of various agencies involved in the use and development of land.
