Abstract

Steganographyisabouttoconcealtheexistenceofdatawithin acovermediasuchasimage,text,audioandvideo.Basically itisaGreekword-steganosmeans“covering” andgraphy means“writingordrawing”.Steganographyisnotonly theart ofhidingdata butalsohidingthefactoftransmissionofsecret data.Steganographytechniquesare categorizedinto spatialandfrequency domaintechniques.Forhidingsecret information inimages,thereexistsvarietyoftechniqueslike LSB,PVD,MLSB,ISB,DCT,DWTetc.Steganography and cryptography aretwosidesofacoin.AsCryptography providesprivacywhilesteganographyprovidessecrecy. This papergivesabriefreviewontheembeddingmethodswhich areLSBandDCTforsteganography.
