Abstract

This paper presents the impact of energy storage systems (ESSs) on the static transmission network expansion planning problem (STNEP). The aim of this work is to minimize the total cost and as well as to analysis the impact of ESSs on the emission produced by CO2. The total cost is the summation of the transmission line investment cost (TLC), the capital cost of energy storage systems (ESSC), the fuel cost (FC) and the CO2 emission cost (EC) of generating units. In the growing power industry generation sources are the main equipment, as there are various types of generating sources.
